First ever LA Car Design Night – registration now open

For those who have attended one of our Car Design Nights at various auto shows around the world, you'll know they're a great place to catch up with fellow designers, make new contacts and unwind with an informal drink away from the show floor. Design an MG sports car for 2025, win a scholarship and internship at SAIC

SAIC has announced its second university student design competition. To be in with a shout, SAIC wants students to design a dream sports car or GT car for the MG brand to be launched in 2025. The brief asks for a concept that must not only must reference MG's history – 2014 is the firm's 90th anniversary – but that also reflects China's post-90s generation.

Acura NSX laps Mid-Ohio

It didn't have the production engine, nor the production exhaust (it was gloriously loud) and because there were safety vehicles on the track it wasn't able to go flat-out, but by golly there it was, a bright blue 2015 Acura NSX lapping Mid-Ohio just before the start of the Honda Indy 200. Being a production mule with any number of systems still under development, it couldn't be turned over to just any driver. So it was piloted by Jason Widmer, assistant large project leader for testing for the new NSX.
